Anyway, two posts, two projects, two headaches. Good times.
First things first - I got my van back! It was having it's transmission rebuilt and we were finally able to pick it up this morning. After driving the Saturn for so long (1 1/2 weeks) it was strange to drive it, but it didn't take long until I remembered just how much I love my van. $1600 well spent!
Two projects in one day - Yup, I am awesome. One project was making a budget, so I decided to tackle another one.
Exhibit A:
The dining room. The bane of my existence. For some reason, it ends up being a dumping ground, which makes me crazy. I am one of those people who thinks we need to eat at the table while Marty and the boys would rather eat in front of the TV. I'm sure that has nothing to do with their constant piling of junk on the table, right?
Anyway, I set the timer for 30 minutes and got to work. Eight minutes later, this is what we had:
Daisy and Lulu approve!
Speaking of Daisy and Lulu, today was doggie spa day and a perfect example of why having some money tucked away for a rainy day (baby emergency fund) is always a good idea.
I got a call from the groomer telling me that Lu had funky ear wax, so she was going to have the Vet look at it. She wanted to know if I had doggie ear drops, which I didn't, so she said that if there was an infection she would have some drops to come home with. When I picked them up, sure enough, there were drops. $38 worth of drops. I would never not treat my dog, so of course we bought them. If for some reason I didn't have the money, I would have had to wait until we did, take her to our vet ($40+ 1/4 tank of gas @$15), and buy the drops anyway ($38). Having the cash available saved us $55, but best of all made it so that we could start the treatment right away and stop whatever pain she might be in.
I feel like crap - I think I am getting another sinus infection - but if I feel better, I think tomorrow's project will be making the bags out of the t-shirts I have had kicking around for a few weeks. Details (hopefully) tomorrow!
